The design concept is first shaped into a clay model and refined until the desired form is achieved. A 3D laser scanner then captures the model's surface geometry, converting it into digital data for further design and engineering processes.
The same technology also supports reverse engineering, allowing manufactured parts to be scanned and compared with CAD data for dimensional verification. It can also be used to digitize molds and other components, improving manufacturing efficiency and supporting long-term maintenance.
